The shop is long gone, I presume for decades. I was out of the Chicago area and lost touch with Ed in the 70s and don't know what ever happened to him. I was one of his many satisfied customers, and I can tell you that going into his shop was "kid in a toy store" good. He specialized in chops and would customize whatever you wanted. Don't recall the exact address, but it would have been about 4400 W Montrose.Įd was not an authorized Hammond dealer (that was Lyon & Healy) but he always had lots (dozens!) of used Hammonds and Leslies(!) (Lyon & Healy couldn't/wouldn't sell Leslies at that time). In the 60s and 70s Ed's shop was on West Montrose (north side of Chicago) just off the Kennedy to the east.
